    Description

1955 Rogers Hornsby Single Signed Baseball. "Any ballplayer that don't sign autographs for little kids ain't an American," the Hall of Fame second baseman once told a reporter for The Saturday Evening Post. "He's a communist." The mighty Rajah remained in the good graces of Senator Joe McCarthy with the application of a bold blue ink side panel signature to this OAL (Harridge) ball, adding the year "1955" with the same 9/10 strength. The ball itself exhibits a degree of wear which appears to be game related, but nothing which compromises the aesthetics of the signed panel in the slightest. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
