1953 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. A bold move to the sweet spot for the young Mickey Mantle, now in his third season and firmly established as one of the most devastating bats in the American League with a chart-topping .924 OPS in 1952. It's still his rookie format signature too, adding further appeal to this OAL (Harridge) ball celebrating another World Championship squad. Twenty-seven autographs are here in total, with other notables including Berra, Mize, Ford, Rizzuto, Stengel (CH), Reynolds, Martin and more. A number "36" written on the Reach logo is typical of other Yankee balls we've encountered once belonging to team members, and this number would suggest original ownership by Johnny Mize, though we cannot assert this definitively. Signature quality is a consistent 9/10, due in part to an expertly applied layer of shellac. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
