    Description

1951 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The absence of Mantle cannot derail what is otherwise a high-grade sphere dedicated to one of the most celebrated of the twenty-six World Championship teams to call the Bronx home. Mickey, as one will recall, had a spotty first season and spent a fair bit of time with the Kansas City Blues farm club in 1951, logically explaining his failure to appear upon this OAL (Harridge) ball. The great DiMaggio claims his rightful sweet spot, however, and is joined by the likes of Dickey, Berra, Rizzuto, Henrich, Reynolds, Bauer, Silvera, Houk and more. Twenty signatures are here in total, all grading 8/10 or better. The OAL stamping has been worn away, but the ball is otherwise in fine, moderately toned condition. A quality 1951 Yankees ball for the collector unwilling to spend the five figures that a ball including Mantle would require. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
