1951 New York Baseball Writers Banquet Program Signed by Multiple Hall of Famers. Sixteen signatures appear on this program for the 28th annual meeting of Big Apple sportswriters, and only a single signer lacks Cooperstown credentials. He's still a very relevant baseball name however: Al Lang, the St. Petersburg, Florida mayor responsible for turning his city into the premier destination for Major League Spring Training. The balance of signers: Kid Nichols (6/10), Mel Ott, Pie Traynor, Charlie Gehringer, Tris Speaker, George Sisler, Mickey Cochrane, Fred Clarke, Ed Walsh, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmy Foxx, Hugh Duffy, Happy Chandler, Ford Frick and Cy Young. The final three appear on the verso of the program, but a clear glass verso allows the framed piece to be viewed from the back as well. Unless noted, all signatures rate 8/10 or better. The matting and framing extends final dimensions to 17x20". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
