    Description

1950's Mel Ott Twice Signed Hall of Fame Plaque. Beginning a sad trend in 1958 of New York Giants Hall of Famers perishing in automobile accidents, teammates Frank Frisch (1973) and Carl Hubbell (1988) would likewise suffer mortal injuries behind the wheel. But while the latter two were well into their golden years at the time of their passing, Ott was just forty-nine, and only seven years removed from his Cooperstown induction. As a result, his autograph is by far the toughest of the three, particularly in this format. His blue ink signature is a magnificent 10/10 on both front and verso, and the postcard, though evidently mailed to a collector from Ott's New Orleans hometown, exhibits no creasing or other noteworthy faults. One of just a small handful of Ott signed plaques, and perhaps the only dual-signed model. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
