1949 Ty Cobb Signed Magazine Photograph. While any Cobb signed image is cause for celebration among Hall of Fame autograph collectors, it's an event worthy of outright jubilation when one encounters an image of the Peach in the uniform of the Detroit Tigers as we find here. This magazine print of a simply sensational portrait of an early-career Cobb is inscribed in 9/10 black fountain pen ink to the father of New York Yankees star Tommy Henrich, who had become a good friend of the reigning Hit King, "To Edward M. Henrich From HIs Friend Ty Cobb, 12/14/49." The photo measures 7.5x9.5" in size, with only insignificant bumps at the corners to suggest anything other than a NRMT grade. Certainly one of the finest Cobb signed photos we've handled. Please also see Cobb's handwritten letter to the elder Henrich also offered within this auction. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
