1949 Ty Cobb Handwritten Signed Letter. Single page of handwritten correspondence was directed to the father of the Yankee's "Old Reliable," Tommy Henrich. The early legend speaks flatteringly of the younger Henrich, writing, "...I know the fan and admirer of baseball that you are also can see why you have such a fine player as your son, yes and I might say a future manager is my guess..." Cobb closes his letter with a simple, "Sincerely, Ty," penned in the same 9/10 black fountain pen ink that characterizes the body of the correspondence. The personal letterhead upon which the letter is penned exhibits light toning at top and bottom edges, a paper clip indentation and insignificant corner wear, but the writing is unaffected by any of these issues. Please also see Cobb's signed photograph to Henrich's father offered within this auction. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
