1948 Ty Cobb Signed Handwritten Letter, PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10. As much as he is maligned for being an ornery old cuss, Ty Cobb actually mellowed out considerably in his older years. An example of this is the proliferation of through-the-mail autographs he willingly sent out to fans.

Offered here is an outstanding exemplar of one of these fan letter autographs. Penned to Leo Sylvar, Cobb acknowledges receipt of Sylvar's "pen lettering" of his name and thanks him for his kindness. He then adds that he hopes the signature at the bottom of the letter will be what Sylvar wants. He has signed the self-penned letter in bold 10/10 green ink, and has added a postscript that he also initialed. The page measures 7.25x10.5" and is in remarkably great condition. Aside from two standard vertical folds, the paper is free of any defects with four sharp corners. The original mailing envelope is also included in the lot. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, Gem Mint 10. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
