    Description

1947 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with Medwick. For the Yankee team ball collector who has everything, we present a piece that only the most educated of baseball historians even knew was possible. Positioned on the sweet spot of this OAL (Harridge) ball is the bold black fountain pen autograph of Joe "Ducky" Medwick, the only Hall of Fame player in Yankee history that never saw Yankee action. The legendary Gashouse Gang outfielder was picked up as a free agent in December of 1946 and released just a few weeks into the 1947 season, having never seen an inning's work for the club. He's joined by a jam-packed roster of thirty-four others, including more familiar Bronx faces like DiMaggio, Rizzuto, Berra, Henrich, Crosetti, Chandler, Silvera, Bevens and Dressen. Signature quality is quite strong throughout, averaging 8/10 and only rarely dipping as low as 6/10. You can bet you won't have too much luck finding another such Yankee ball, in any condition whatsoever, and definitely not one as nice as this. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
