    Description

1947 Mel Ott Handwritten Signed Christmas Card to Bobby Thomson, PSA Gem Mint 10. The Hall of Fame slugger took his final four career at bats the year he penned this note to the future hero of the 1951 pennant chase, having turned his attentions exclusively to his managerial role. He pokes a bit of good-natured fun at Thomson's 1947 stolen base total of one, writing, "Hi Bobby-- Glad to know that your knee will be in good shape for next season, maybe you will be able to steal two bases. Hope you have a very fine Christmas, Mel." Ott's blue ink rates a flawless 10/10 in quality, as does the dignified greeting card itself. Acquired as part of a larger collection of Thomson-related artifacts. Autograph is graded PSA Gem Mint 10. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
