1947 American Legion Banquet Program & Photograph, Both Signed by Babe Ruth. The Hotel Statler in Boston, Massachusetts played host to true baseball royalty on September 12, 1947, as Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Joe Cronin turned out in support of the American Legion Junior Baseball Scholarship Banquet. Three separate mementos from that event form the contents of this lot. 1) Eight-page program/menu for the event, autographed by Ruth, Joe Cronin and Ted Williams. Small imperfection to Ruth's signature, and a larger one to Cronin's, but all are otherwise as bold as the date of application, and the program itself is free of faults. 2) Photograph of Ruth (5x6.5"), autographed in 10/10 black fountain pen ink. Photo is NRMT, was once glued to interior cover of program. 3) Ruth's place card from the banquet, reading "Mr. George Herman 'Babe' Ruth." Unsigned. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
