1946 Walter Johnson Signed Check. The most overpowering pitcher of the pre-war era pays five dollars to "A. Gude Sons Co." with this "The Germantown Bank" check drawn from his personal account. All vintage black ink and the authorizing signature are in Johnson's perfect 10/10 hand, and the bank's cancellation stamping has remained fortuitously clear of the scarce and important autograph. Three-quarter inch tear at dead center of the check, created when check was processed and filed on a document spike, remains entirely invisible when check is laid flat, easily taking on the appearance of a NRMT specimen. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
