    Description

1946 Ty Cobb Signed Check. For the autograph collector seeking the most solid assurance of authenticity, the cancelled personal check carries obvious appeal. Here we present a specimen from the man owning Cooperstown plaque number one, drawn from his personal account at the First National Bank of Nevada. All blank ink registers at a strength of 8/10 or better, and is applied entirely in Cobb's hand. The closing "Tyrus R. Cobb" signature, typical of his checks, is the most desirable of formats. A vertical fold line to the left of center is no cause for concern, and all bank stamping and punch coding remains well clear of the autograph. A very solid example. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
