1945 Ty Cobb Signed Check. To whomever released the supply of Ty Cobb bank checks to the public all those years ago, the collectors of the world thank you. These checks offer one of the best values in baseball signatures, to be able to pick up an official document signed by one of the greatest to play the game. Cobb was well known for flying spikes and fistfights, but also became much more congenial in his older age, earning him many more fans than detractors. The offered check is on the First National Bank of Nevada, made out for cash on June 30th, 1945. The signature is in blue ink and rates a 9/10, with one cancellation barely touching the "T" in his first name. Three fold marks are also present, but check grades Excellent overall. Lot also includes a 1961 Fleer Baseball Greats trading card in EX-MT condition. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
