    Description

1945 Joe Tinker Handwritten Signed Letter Mentioning Chance & Evers. The sixty-five year old Hall of Fame shortstop graciously replies to a fan's letter on his personal "U.S. Army" letterhead. He writes, in part, "Chance is dead but you can write Evers Troy New York he will be more than glad to sign his name although he is very sick." All ink and Tinker's closing signature survives with 9+/10 strength. Top left corner of page is clipped and left edge exhibits one and a half punch holes, but writing is unaffected. A special piece recalling the storied Chicago Cubs double play combination, from one of its key figures. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
