    Description

1944 Walter Johnson Signed Check. "He's got a gun concealed about his person," journalist Ring Lardner once said of the mighty Big Train, "They can't tell me he throws them balls with his arm." The greatest fireballer of his era filled out and signed this personal check from "The Germantown Bank" entirely in his own 9/10 hand. The check pays $395 to "Equitable Life Assurance Society of U.S." Official bank stamping appears on front and verso, and a hole at center results from puncture by a filing spike, but these issues are of little concern and the autograph in particular remains all but untouched. A top-shelf example. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
