    Description

1941 Napoleon "Larry" Lajoie Signed Government Postcard. Number twenty-nine on The Sporting News' 1999 list of the one hundred greatest baseball players of all time, Lajoie was considered the leading contender for Cobb's title of the American League's greatest hitter, following him into the Hall of Fame in 1937. He provides his less formal "Larry Lajoie" autograph here in 9+/10 black ink, adding the date of "April - 29/41" below. One of many government postcards from the collection of young Howard Lyon presented within this auction. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
