    Description

1940's Gabby Hartnett Single Signed Baseball. Best remembered today for his game-winning "Homer in the Gloaming" which helped catapult his Chicago Cubs to its eventual National League Championship, Hartnett became one of the first occupants of the Hall of Fame when his bat and catcher's mask from the game were delivered to the newly constructed Cooperstown museum. His bronze plaque would arrive a little over a decade and a half later. Hartnett's 7/10 blue ink signature appears on the side panel of this ONL (Frick) ball, which exhibits toning and surface degradation from poor storage but still presents well despite these concerns. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
