1940's Babe Ruth Signed Photograph at Age Twenty-Three. A second youthful image from the "Herby & Gerty" collection, this shot pictures the Babe as he looked around the time of the historic Red Sox/Yankees trade that spawned the agonizing Curse of the Bambino. The black fountain pen inscription from Ruth notes, "To My Pals Herby & Gerty, Age 24, From Babe Ruth." A couple errant brushes of Ruth's hand before the 9+/10 ink dried are to be noted for accuracy, but these do nothing to override the unique and significant appeal. Some small flaws in the form of bends, border tears and tape stains are present at the edges, but could easily be matted out to approximate an EX-MT appearance at a minimum. Included is a photo of the Babe at the restaurant owned by Herby (standing third from left) and Gerty (between Herby & Ruth), measuring 8x10", Good. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
