    Description

1940's Babe Ruth Signed Oversized Photograph. Spectacular black and white portrait of the Babe at work should be familiar to most serious hobbyists, but the dimensions of the print (11x14") renders the offered lot anything but commonplace. Ruth makes fine use of the considerable girth of his pinstriped torso to place his 9+/10 black fountain pen inscription, which reads, "To My 'Pals,' Gertrude & Herbert, From Babe Ruth." Some minor tearing, wrinkling and foxes skirts the edges of the oversized cardstock print, but none of these faults have any significant effect upon the impressive appearance of this specimen. Accompanying the signed image is another (8x10") that finds the Babe framed by Herbert and his brother, owners of the restaurant the Babe frequented on trips to upstate New York. LOA from PSA/DNA.
