1939 Ty Cobb, Connie Mack & Cachet Artist Torkel Gundel Signed Baseball Centennial First Day Cover. Cobb and Mack, who were elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936 and 1937, respectively, were both on hand (on the date this cover was postmarked) for the opening of the Hall, its first induction ceremony, and to celebrate baseball's centennial. Ty signs in 8/10 blue ink, while Connie signs in 10/10 black ink.

The cover is also signed (in 10/10 black ink) by the noted artist who created the fabulous baseball centennial cachet which appears on this cover. Torkel Gundel was a Danish immigrant and advertising executive who started creating cachets in the 1930's, many of which are highly prized by collectors, and continued for the rest of his life. COA from SGC. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (Mack 10, Cobb 8).
