    Description

1939 Stan Musial Signed High School Yearbook. Stan the Kid? It's definitely one of the earliest Musial autographs on the market, applied just to the left of a photo of the high school senior at age eighteen with 8/10 boldness. Listed along with his interest in baseball are basketball and intramural ping pong. His poetic couplet: "Stan's far more than just an athlete/He's friendly, full of fun, and neat." We find the slugger on the rise fourth from the left in the top row of the baseball team photo as well, with text below lamenting his loss to the Mountain State League for the start of his professional career. The Donora (PA) High School yearbook is in remarkably fine condition, all but unchanged from its issue during the Baseball Centennial season of 1939. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
Letter of provenance from the Musial family.
