    Description

1939 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with Gehrig. Though the Bronx Bombers were the last team standing for a fourth consecutive October in 1939, this Centennial season is best remembered for the brave and heartbreaking farewell of the Iron Horse. The vast majority of Yankees team balls from the season find Gehrig in secretarial format, but his remarkable example bucks that unfortunate trend, supplying the genuine article among the twenty-seven entrants. Other notables include DiMaggio, Gomez, Combs, Dickey, Henrich, Chandler, Keller and Gehrig's replacement at first base Babe Dahlgren. Ruffing and Gordon appear in secretarial format. Signatures average 8/10 on an OAL (Harridge) sphere. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
