    Description

1939 New York Yankees Stars Signed Photograph with DiMaggio, Gordon. Original UPI news photograph finds six members of the mighty Yanks lined up on the dugout steps with bats in hand. A notation on the verso of the photo notes "11 home runs in doubleheader," dating the image to a June 28, 1939 visit to Shibe Park, in which these six sluggers launched eight long balls in the first game and another three in the nightcap. Remarkably, the autograph collector was able to track down each Yankee in the shot, gaining NRMT sharpie or ink signatures from Babe Dahlgren, Joe DiMaggio, Tommy Henrich, Bill Dickey, George Selkirk and newly minted posthumous Hall of Famer Joe Gordon. Surely a one of a kind piece for the advanced Yankee collector. Very minor wear is confined to the border area only, leaving the central image to present as NRMT or better. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
