    Description

1939 Casey Stengel Signed Boston Bees Contract. The future Hall of Fame manager signs on for a second season in Beantown, en route to a seventh place National League finish. Stengel's Braves failures left most Yankee fans outraged when he was first introduced in pinstripes, but five straight World Championships would do wonders for calming their nerves. This is Stengel's personal copy for the Centennial season, filled out in his distinctive hand which effectively provides a signature on the first page as well as the second, where he agrees to the $12,500 annual terms. Bees president Quinn signs the second page as well. The standard four-page Uniform Player's Contract exhibits original storage folds but no other issues of note, and all ink is 9/10 or better. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
