    Description

1939 Babe Ruth & Eddie Rickenbacker Signed World's Fair Ticket Booklet. The Baseball Centennial, which included such monumental events as the opening of the Hall of Fame, the farewell of Lou Gehrig and the emergence of Ted Williams, made 1939 a red-letter year in American sports history. But the "Academy of Sports" at that year's World's Fair was another noteworthy calendar entry, an opportunity for the youth of America to meet their athletic heroes face to face. Here's a relic from one youngster's experience, a ticket booklet with a pair of tickets still affixed. But most noteworthy is the trio of autographs from famous folks in attendance. Active and former Yankees Bump Hadley and Babe Ruth join famed aviator Eddie Rickenbacker in bold blue ink, each 9/10 except for a small smudge to Hadley's nickname. The booklet folds out to 4x10" in size and exhibits typical handling wear but no problems of any significance. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
