    1939-40 Babe Ruth & Celebrities Multi-Signed New York World's Fair Guide Book & Ephemera. The 1939 World's Fair in New York is still the coolest one ever conceived and carried out. It's motto was "The World of Tomorrow" and it delivered by offering a wondrous glimpse of the future. The U.S. was at crossroads, sandwiched between the tail end of the Great Depression and the rumblings of World War.

    Hardcover keepsake sports orange and blue cover embossed with "Official Guide Book. New York's World's Fair. The World Of Tomorrow. 1939" plus Trylon and Perisphere logo. Inside packed with many fountain pen autographs, including some of the biggest stars of the day, the most noteworthy of which being Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey, Mary Pickford (actress), Bill Robinson (dancer), Dorothy Lamour (actress/singer, signed letter on personal letterhead neatly attached into the book), Frank McCormick (1940 N.L. MVP), Fred Allen (comedian), Harry Richman (entertainer, on white paper neatly attached into the book), Pauline Alpert (pianist), and, Evelyn Piper (Miss New York, 1940).

    The lot also includes a Gertrude Trudy Ederle (gold medal Olympic swimmer) signed photograph (3.5x5.5"); Kathryn Grayson (actress/opera singer) typed signed letter and publicity photo (5x7"); Guy Lombardo New Year's card (6.75x4.75"); and one other unidentified signed photo (6.5x9.5).

    The book, photos, letters, and autographs are all NRMT or Mint. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
