    Description

1938 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball with Honus Wagner. Almost four decades after first donning the uniform of the Pirates, the Old Dutchman was still a fixture in the Pittsburgh dugout, helping to lead his beloved squad to within two victories of the National League pennant in 1938. The 1936 Hall of Fame inductee would one day share space again, this time in Cooperstown, with teammates Traynor, Vaughan, Manush and the Waner brothers, all of whom are counted among the twenty-six signatures on the presented ONL (Frick) ball. Other notables: Suhr, Young, Rizzo and Blanton. The black fountain pen ink utilized by this Steel City squad has survived the passing decades marvelously, with signature quality averaging 8/10 and only a few (none listed above) dipping below 6/10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
