    Description

1938 Lou Gehrig Signed Government Postcard, PSA/DNA Mint 9. Penny postcard is postmarked from the Bronx, May 7, 1938, coinciding with some pinstriped animal cruelty to the visiting Tigers, who surrendered twelve runs including two RBI's and a triple that day off the bat of the Iron Horse. Front and address on back are inked entirely in Gehrig's hand, the former reading, "Best Wishes Ray, Lou Gehrig." The Hall of Fame first baseman's black fountain pen ink averages 9/10, as the PSA/DNA rating confirms. Certainly one of the finest specimens we've encountered from Gehrig of this favored autographic subgenre. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Mint 9.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
