    Description

1938 Detroit Tigers Team Signed Baseball. Three seasons removed from their first-ever World Series title, the Detroit Tigers-like the rest of the American League-found themselves looking up at the New York Yankees in 1938. Despite logging a respectable 84-70 record that year, Detroit finished in fourth place, a full 16 games behind the eventual World Champion Bronx Bombers. The Tigers, who had finished second the previous two seasons, hovered near the .500 mark for much of the campaign before a stellar 19-6 finish proved to be too little, too late. Offered is an official William Harridge ball with 26 signatures including Rudy York, Ray Hayworth, Bing Miller(Clubhouse signature), Schoolboy Rowem Dixie Walker, Jake Wade, Hank Greenberg(Clubhouse), Del Baker, Birdie Tebbetts, Charles Gehringer, Pete Fox, Tom Bridges (Clubhouse), Vernon Kennedy, etc. A light shellac has been applied to ball. The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
