    Description

1938 Brooklyn Dodgers Signed Baseball with Babe Ruth. It was a sad end to the Babe's quarter century in a Major League uniform, as it became increasingly clear during that 1938 season that the Brooklyn Dodgers had no intention of installing Ruth as manager and had hired him solely as a curiosity to increase Ebbets Field ticket sales. But always the humble servant to autograph seekers, the Babe applied his 8/10 black fountain pen signature to the sweet spot of this "Cock of the Walk" sphere on July 7, 1938 along with a sampling of Dodgers players. The other autographs have faded considerably over the years, but Ruth remains miraculously strong, practically presenting as a single due to the lightness of the autographs that surround. Other signers include Koy, Butcher and Goody Rosen. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
