1937 Walter Johnson Signed Fiftieth Birthday Dinner Program. It's not very often that you see a pre-authenticated, pre-war autograph from a Baseball Hall of Famer, but you're seeing one now. As a brief introduction that precedes the rather tongue in cheek biography on the interior portion of the bi-fold notes, "This score-card menu is personally autographed by Walter for you as a souvenir of his 50th Birthday Testimonial Dinner, Ballroom, Mayflower Hotel, Saturday, November , 1937." And sure enough, on the cover, which is fashioned to replicate a 1907 Senators scorecard, is an image of "The 'Hot Potato' from Idaho" inscribed "Best Wishes, Walter Johnson." Signature is a perfectly visible 6/10. The "scorecard" itself was unfortunately torn in two at some point, and has been expertly rejoined with archival tape. It must be noted however that this damage does not interfere with the all-important autograph in any way, and display value of the cover is still very strong. LOA from PSA/DNA.
