1937 Jim Bottomley Signed Letter. The St. Louis Browns won forty-six of their 154 games during the 1937 season, illustrating that Bottomley's prediction ("I think we have a real ball club this year and we are going to try and win a lot of games for you good loyal Brownie fans in East St. Louis.") had been perhaps overly optimistic. This friendly typed missive on attractive team letterhead was signed at the close by the 1974 posthumous Hall of Fame inductee during his last season in the game, a 9+/10 black fountain pen beauty. The page exhibits original mailing flaws and remnants of scrapbook removal on verso which causes no distraction to the obverse. A scarce TLS from fan favorite Sunny Jim. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
