    Description

1936 New York Yankees & Chicago White Sox Autographs with Gehrig, DiMaggio. A modest little autograph book issued by a Chicago hotel was put to good use by one tenant, who documented a meeting between the visiting Yanks and the hometown White Sox on the pages within. Nineteen signatures appear, highlighted by gorgeous black fountain pen ink offerings from Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Joe McCarthy, Jake Ruppert and the tragic Willard Hershberger, who would take his own life during the 1940 season. The twelve-page volume (pages measure 4x6") exhibits scattered foxing, but all autographs remain as bold as the date of application. A fine relic from the start of a four-season World Championship streak for the Bronx Bombers. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
