    Description

1936 Lou Gehrig Signed Government Postcard PSA/DNA Certified Authentic. The Iron Horse's blistering home run pace this season, averaging better than one long ball for every twelve at bats, earned him the well deserved second MVP award of his career, and helped to power the Yanks to the World Championship in October. His 9+/10 pencil inscription offers greetings to the boy who sent this self-addressed postcard, reading "Best Wishes Howard, Lou Gehrig." Postmark is from Gehrig's New Rochelle, New York hometown. A small degree of paper loss on verso is the result of scrapbook removal. One of many government postcards from the collection of young Howard Lyon presented within this auction. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
