    Description

1935 New York Yankees Signed Baseball with Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig. Perhaps the only Yankees signed baseball on earth featuring both Ruth and Gehrig upon which the latter takes sweet spot honors, this apparent OAL sphere (stamping faded beyond visibility) bears a handwritten notation "Hogan's 1st Home Run, Mar. 30, 35," indicating derivation from the shared St. Petersburg, Florida spring training grounds of the Yanks and Boston Braves. Hogan, therefore, must be the Braves' backup catcher Shanty Hogan, whose last-place club signed the worn-out Bambino for his final season of ball. Ruth's side panel signature is 9/10, even bolder than Gehrig's 8/10 offering. Joining the fabled pair are the likes of McCarthy (CH), Combs, McKechnie, Crosetti, Dizzy Dean and Charles Atlas, along with a scattering of lesser names. Autograph quality averages 6/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
