1935 Babe Ruth Signed Government Postcard. The Babe's enormous fame and his limitless generosity to those millions of fans who adored him has established his as one of the most accessible baseball autographs of the pre-war era, but for collectors of the popular GPC, Ruth has remained a significant challenge. While our auction database holds hundreds of results for baseballs and photos, sales of his penny postcard in the 21st century could be counted on the fingers of both hands. This one was mailed to a fan from Boston fewer than three weeks before the legendary slugger hung up his spikes for good, providing a stunningly bold "Sincerely Babe Ruth" in black fountain pen ink. Address on reverse is penned in an unknown hand, and exhibits some affixed paper from scrapbook removal that does not affect the autograph. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
