    Description

1934 Tour of Japan Team Signed Sheet with Babe Ruth. The members of this most historic of foreign baseball tours were headed west upon the "Canadian Pacific" railroad when accosted by a young fan, who presented a dining car menu and a fountain pen to the pioneering ballplayers. Applying their 9+/10 ink autographs to the back of this 5x7" page were Ruth, McNair, Berg, Miller, Gehringer, Mack, Cascarella and Warstler, as well as silver screen star Bing Crosby, who apparently was sharing a meal with the baseball tourists. A brushing of light blue ink or paint is evident in the upper right quadrant of the sheet, but, as our catalog imagery will attest, the brilliance of the autographs is not adversely affected. The page otherwise shows no noteworthy condition flaws. Tour of Japan memorabilia continues to fascinate collectors and baseball historians alike, and steadily rising prices bear witness to this fact. A solid investment piece. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
