    Description

1934 Honus Wagner Handwritten & Signed Government Postcard. The Old Dutchman writes a penny postcard to an acquaintance on Valentine's Day. Text: "2-14-34, Dear Mr. Brooks, I am this day mailing you a small poster. The J.J. Club is a wonderful idea. With regards, J. Honus Wagner, Pirate." The card is also addressed in Wagner's hand, identifying the mysterious "J.J. Club" as the "Jolly Jesters Club," though we have been able to find no information about what that may have been. Wagner's black fountain pen ink survives with 8/10 to 9/10 boldness. Card exhibits vertical center fold line and minor, inconsequential paper loss on back from tape removal. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
