1934 Babe Ruth 700th Home Run Game Collectibles Lot with Signed Program, Baseball. We believe the story, though admit that proving it definitively is an impossibility at this late date. Our consignor assures us, however, that the family tale has always been that the presented program and baseball date to the July 13, 1934 game at Detroit's Navin Field when Ruth clubbed the 700th long ball of his career. The lot features:

    1) 1934 Detroit Tigers team signed baseball. Heavy wear has limited strength of autographs to 1/10 to 2/10 average, but Cochrane, Greenberg, Gehringer and others remain visible. It is believed that this ball was used in the 700th home run game. OAL (Harridge).

    2) "Detroit Tigers in Picture" publication. Babe Ruth autograph (8/10) on cover. The full roster twenty-five Tigers pictured inside has signed as well, 9/10 average. Publication shows considerable wear with loose covers, but autographs are unaffected. Signers include Cochrane, Greenberg, Goslin, Gehringer and more.

An intriguing pairing from one of the last great achievements in baseball's most noteworthy career. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
