1933 Baseball Autograph Book Signed by 372, Including Ruth, Gehrig, Walter Johnson & More. Along with the three autographed 1933 Goudey cards presented in the Live portion of this Platinum Night auction, the daughter of the original collector consigned this intriguing little album packed with hundreds of autographs from legends and common players alike. One will quickly realize that all autographs derive from American League players with the sole exception of the 1933 New York Giants, who came to Griffith Stadium to meet the Washington Senators in the last Fall Classic hosted by our nation's capital. A special assembly of autographs in its own right, the booklet further serves to authenticate the signed Goudeys deriving from the same source and vintage.

Some of the key autographs include Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson (2), Connie Mack, Joe Cronin (3), Clark Griffith (2), Heinie Manush (2), Moe Berg, Luke Sewell (2), Goose Goslin, Rube Walberg, Joe Vosmik, Wes Ferrell, Earl Averill (2), Ted Lyons (2), Charles Gehringer, Schoolboy Rowe (2), Hank Greenberg, Bucky Harris, Charles "Red" Ruffing, Joe Sewell, Earle Combs, Rick Ferrell, Lefty Gomez (3), Luke Appling, Rogers Hornsby, Carl Hubbell, Mel Ott, Sam Rice (3) and so many more.

The book itself measures 3.5x6" and is about 0.5" thick with several blank pages. It is securely bound although it does have a 0.5x1" tear in the binding on the back not affecting the signatures. Normal wear with some chipping and light creasing on the covers, and inside, the first page is loose. Otherwise, interior pages are normally EX to EX/MT, while the signatures themselves are overwhelmingly in the 8/10 to 10/10 range with only a few lesser. Some are in ink, some pencil, only a small few have bleeding or smudging. More often than not, the signatures are applied six to ten to a page, on each side of the paper. Ruth and Gehrig are 9+/10 quality. Hall of Famers abound, along with stars, and even some tough lesser figures. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
