    Description

1931 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The Babe and the Iron Horse matched each other long ball for long ball this season, each completing the 1931 campaign with an impressive forty-six, fourteen beyond Averill's third place total. Each of the Yankee legends has survived the passing decades marvelously (Ruth 8/10, Gehrig 7/10), the bold black fountain pen ink well served by an ancient coating of shellac. Seven more Hall of Famers join the festivities, with Lazzeri (3/10), Sewell (7/10), Combs (7/10), Ruffing (7/10), Gomez (9/10), Pennock (7/10) and Dickey (6/10) illustrating just what a powerhouse this Bronx squad had been. Twenty-five signatures are here in total upon the OAL (Barnard) sphere, with only two signatures dipping below 5/10 in strength. Mild, scattered chipping intersects with autographs here and there, but to no major detriment. A rock-solid example of the team that boasted the most Hall of Fame players ever active upon a single roster. JSA Auction LOA.
