    Description

    1931 Babe Ruth Signed Photograph. "Kings of Swat Meet for the First Time," reads the paper caption still affixed to this Type 1 image issued by the Cleveland Bureau of "Wide World Photos." The man at the Babe's right shoulder is Max Schmeling, reigning Heavyweight Champion of the World, best remembered today for his historic pair of meetings with Joe Louis. The Babe inscribes the image to a fan, "To John, From Babe Ruth," in 8/10 black fountain pen ink. The 8x10" image has a border chip at upper right corner but otherwise presents very well. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
