    Description

1930 Walter Johnson Handwritten Letter to Clyde Milan--Two Autographs! "This is my first letter since Hazel left." You can feel the weight of Johnson's heartbreak from the opening sentence of this two-page letter penned to his close friend Milan on Washington Senators letterhead. He continues, "Zeb, of course you know what Hazel meant to me and the children here and you have some idea how we miss her and I know we will for a long long time...The doctors thought she would be alright and all of them wanted me to go home and sleep the night she died but I am so glad I stayed with her. I had several chats with her worth a million dollars to me." The letter concludes with "Sincerely, Walter Johnson," and we encounter a second full autograph on the included mailing envelope. Pages exhibit original mailing folds but no other issues of concern.
