1930's Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph. Looking more like a movie star here than a hard-nosed first basemen who played through broken bones and beanball concussions, the debonair Iron Horse is captured on a night out in the big city. He makes perfect use of the lighter contrast of the bottom quarter of the photograph to apply a stunningly bold black fountain pen ink inscription: "To Virginia, with Kindest Regards, Cordially Lou Gehrig." An ideal candidate for grading if there ever was one, this will score a perfect 10 rating on anybody's scale. The 4.5x6.5" silver gelatin photo is likewise beyond reproach. Absolutely phenomenal. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
