    Description

1930's Babe Ruth Signed Photograph. Remove one letter from the inscription and this signed photo goes from just fantastic to outrageously stupendous! But we've confirmed that the Babe didn't misspell the recipient's surname, and that this photo was not a gift to the Hall of Fame Washington Senators pitcher. But rather than dwell on what might have been, we'll instead celebrate the bona fide 10/10 strength of the bold fountain pen inscription that reads, "To My Pal Walter Johnston From Babe Ruth." It appears at upper left of this classic 8x10" image of the Bambino taking his cuts down at St. Petersburg's spring training camp. A vertical bend just right of center will only be apparent at certain angles to the light, and tape staining at top and bottom borders is likewise benign. A simple matting and framing job should result in a NRMT appearance for the photo, with the Babe's ink remaining a cut above even that lofty stature. LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
