    Description

1929 Wilbert Robinson Signed & Notated Album Page. The Hall of Fame manager was such a key figure in Brooklyn baseball that the team adopted a "Robins" moniker during his reign. The Ned Hanlon disciple is one of the great challenges of twentieth century Hall of Fame autograph collectors, and this is unquestionably the finest specimen on Earth. His 9/10 blue fountain pen ink is a pure dream, supplying "Wilbert Robinson, Manager Brooklyn Base Ball Club, National League." Robinson passed away five years after signing this autograph, in 1934. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA.

The Turtle Creek Autograph Collection-An Incomparable Assembly

Consigned by a gentleman living just yards from the Heritage Auctions world headquarters in uptown Dallas, Texas, this remarkable collection of early autographs served as a family heirloom for over eight decades, and a passion of our consignor's grandfather for the bulk of that time. While many young collectors sought autographs through the mail during the middle half of the twentieth century, none, it would appear, had the vision of this particular youngster, who always demanded and typically received something a little extra from his targets. The result is some of the most remarkable exemplars you'll ever see from a dazzling array of leading figures from the sports world and beyond. The vast majority are penned on identical pages sent by the collector so that they could be neatly filed into various leather bound volumes made expressly for the purpose. Many could be considered the finest autograph exemplars known.
