1929 Pittsburgh Pirates & Brooklyn Robins Team Signed Scrapbook with Wilbert Robinson. On the eve of the Great Depression, one Steeltown fan set about an intriguing project that results in one of the most unusual and appealing scrapbooks we've ever encountered. Sepia-toned photographic images, garnered from either period publications or some form of baseball supplement, provide the visual heft while the men pictured provide 9+/10 average black fountain pen signatures on the sturdy paper mat around each image. The roster of signers: Ens, Stanage, Traynor, Sheely, Grantham, Stuart Clarke, Adams, Bartell, Paul Waner, Lloyd Waner, Comorosky, Brickell, Hargreaves, Hemsley, Grimes, Kremer, Brame, Swetonic, Petty, French and Meine. Finally, in a section entitled "Tidbits," we come to a page autographed by twelve Brooklynites: Herman, Moore, Robinson, Moss, DeBerry, Rhiel, Gilbert, Dudley, Clark, Moore, Carey and Bancroft. Album measures 8x16x2", with general handling wear and a loose binding, but nothing that affects the autographs within. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
