    Description

1929 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Though the Philadelphia Athletics wrested control of the American League from this pinstriped juggernaut for the 1929-31 seasons, the heart of the Yanks remains the same as those glorious Murderer's Row days, a staggering compilation of Hall of Fame talent. You'll find eight members of Cooperstown among the twenty-two black fountain pen autographs coating this OAL (Johnson) sphere, perhaps most notably that of diminutive manager Miller Huggins, who would not live to see the 1929 Fall Classic, passing of a sudden illness in late September. The balance of the Hall of Fame roster: Ruth, Gehrig, Durocher, Combs, Dickey, Pennock and Lazzeri. Autograph quality is a consistent 7/10 throughout, a ball that would soar past $50,000 if just two years older. Original box is included, the key to the sphere's fine state of preservation today. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
