1929 Jimmie Foxx Signed Baseball. From 1921 through 1928, the New York Yankees had failed to claim the American League flag just twice, so the three-year reign of the Philadelphia Athletics that began in 1929 came as no small shock for the baseball world. Presented is a sweet spot signature from one of the key figures in that transfer of power, dated to just weeks after he led the Mack Men to their first World Championship since the days of Plank and Baker. The first man to join the Babe in the 500 Home Run Clubhouse rates a solid 7/10 on this red and blue stitched OAL ball (presumably Johnson, though stamping has faded), notated "10-28-29" in an unknown hand on the northern panel. While any Foxx signed baseball is cause for celebration, this one dating to the A's Championship and Foxx' first thirty-plus home run campaign sets it apart from that narrow supply. Faded writing appears, denying "single signed" status. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
